DESCRIPTION

Chinese porcelain vase cover decorated in underglaze blue with peony blossoms and scrolling foliage.
The cover is surmounted by a molded foo lion finial holding a brocade ball.
Domed form with broad overhanging rim and recessed fitting collar beneath.
The blue and white decoration is executed in a lively hand with attractive tonal variation.
A decorative Qing period cover suitable as a replacement lid or display piece.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Blue and white porcelain with foo lion finials was a popular decorative style during the Qing dynasty.
