DESCRIPTION
Elegant Chinese porcelain saucer decorated in the Famille Verte palette of the Kangxi period.
The center is painted with a floral medallion enclosed by a scrolling iron red border.
Surrounding lotus and peony style blossoms are combined with green, blue, yellow, and gilt accents.
A finely detailed geometric border frames the rim and enhances the balanced composition.
The delicate enameling and refined decoration are characteristic of high-quality early Qing export porcelain.
COLLECTOR’S NOTE
Kangxi period Famille Verte porcelains are among the most admired wares of the early Qing Dynasty.
Saucer forms with finely painted floral decoration were produced for both domestic use and export markets.
Well-preserved examples remain sought after for their vibrant enamel colors, elegant designs, and importance within the development of Chinese overglaze decoration.
