📜 Description
A finely potted Chinese porcelain tea cup, dating to the Kangxi period (1662–1722), delicately formed with a barbed or lobed rim in the shape of a lotus flower. Painted in rich underglaze cobalt blue with alternating floral sprigs rising from a band of crashing wave scrolls, the design is elegant and balanced.
💠The peony (牡丹) is a traditional Chinese emblem of wealth, rank, and feminine beauty – a fitting motif for refined scholar’s or tea ware from this era.
