DESCRIPTION

Chinese porcelain gaiwan cover decorated in bright famille jaune enamels.
The exterior features an intricate yellow scroll ground with floral motifs and stylized double gourds.
Four white medallions contain Shou longevity characters in iron red enamel.
The rim and knop are accented with key-fret borders in turquoise and iron red.
A finely painted decorative cover bearing a Guangxu reign mark.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Famille jaune wares are admired for their vibrant yellow enamel grounds and auspicious symbolism.
