📜 Description An antique Chinese Grisaille and Sepia export porcelain saucer delicately painted with a riverside
garden scene, showing three figures in a serene landscape with trees, mountains, and balustrade
details. A fine gilt border adorns the rim. This decoration style, using monochrome enamels with
subtle washes, is characteristic of mid-Qianlong export wares.

Collector’s Notes: Grisaille decoration became highly popular in the European market during the 18th Century, valued for
its refined, almost sketch-like aesthetic. Scenes featuring scholars and ladies in garden settings
symbolised refinement and leisure.
