📜 Description
This Chinese Carved Resin circular box features a rich brown to amber tone with deeply moulded archaistic decoration around the body. The exterior is carved with repeating panels of geometric key-fret borders and stylised mythical creatures among scrolling foliage.

The rounded base and interior show natural surface wear consistent with age and use. The translucent amber tone to the underside is typical of late 20th century resin pieces made in imitation of earlier lacquer or cinnabar wares.

Collector’s Notes: Archaistic designs drawing inspiration from ancient bronze motifs and traditional Chinese decorative scrolls have long been popular in decorative arts. During the 20th Century, resin examples such as this were produced to emulate earlier lacquer and carved works, offering collectors decorative appeal with traditional symbolism.
