A small yet intricate Japanese Satsuma saucer, decorated with a bold and expressive gathering of seven Rakan (immortals) encircling a central female figure, likely Kannon, the Bodhisattva of Compassion. The figures are picked out in fine gilt detailing with expressive facial features and raised moriage embellishments. A coiled white dragon emerges beneath them, symbolizing spiritual protection and strength. Background fields of stylized clouds and geometric fills give depth and energy to the composition. The plate is bordered with a swirling geometric band in rich iron-red and gold.
