DESCRIPTION
A decorative vintage Italian ship in a bottle model contained within a large pale aqua-green glass bottle marked BUTON Bologna Italy and Producta Vignobles. The handmade three-masted sailing vessel features cream fabric sails, fine thread rigging, small red pennants, and a painted green base representing the sea. The broad rounded bottle retains its original-style cork closure with aged red sealing material around the neck. The internal model displays traditional maritime folk art construction with attractive age and character. A distinctive nautical display piece combining Italian branded glass with detailed ship model craftsmanship.
COLLECTOR’S NOTE
Ship in a bottle models have long been collected as examples of maritime folk art, nautical souvenirs, and traditional model making. The BUTON Bologna marking provides an identifiable Italian connection to the bottle and adds interest beyond the internal sailing ship itself. The aged cork, seal, and handmade model contribute to its appealing vintage presentation.
