DESCRIPTION

Fine Japanese porcelain cabinet plate decorated in bright famille verte enamels with flowering branches, butterflies, and stylized phoenix birds. The rim features an elegant gilt scroll border framing the lively central design. Delicate pink, orange, yellow, and green enamels are carefully outlined in fine detail. The reverse bears a red character mark associated with Aoki Kyodai Shokai of Arita. An attractive decorative example with strong visual appeal.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Arita porcelain from the late Meiji and early 20th century period was widely exported and admired for its refined enamel decoration and elegant forms. Pieces in the famille verte taste combined Japanese craftsmanship with designs inspired by earlier Chinese export porcelains. Cabinet plates of this type remain popular among collectors of Japanese decorative arts.
