DESCRIPTION

Delicate Japanese porcelain bottle vase produced by the Seiji Kaisha Company during the Meiji period.Decorated with stylized floral sprays in cobalt blue, white enamel, and gilt outlining over a soft pale blue glaze.The neck is flanked by small molded elephant mask handles adding decorative character to the elegant form.Finely potted with rounded body and flared rim in a classic late 19th century export style.Iron red factory mark to the underside identifying the Seiji Kaisha porcelain company of Arita.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Seiji Kaisha, also known as the Pure Water Company, operated in Arita during the Meiji era and produced high quality export porcelain for Western markets.Founded in 1879 by former associates of Koransha, the company became known for refined enamel decoration and elegant forms.Examples bearing Seiji Kaisha marks are increasingly collected for their historical connection to the development of modern Japanese export porcelain.
