DESCRIPTION

Large copper Cartwheel Penny issued during the reign of King George III in 1797. Struck at the famous Soho Mint under the direction of Matthew Boulton, these impressive coins are noted for their substantial weight and broad flan. The obverse features the laureate portrait of George III, while the reverse depicts Britannia seated with shield and trident. A classic piece of British numismatic history suitable for collectors of Georgian coinage.
