DESCRIPTION
An attractive English Art Deco cut crystal decanter dating to 1928, with a tall tapering body richly decorated with geometric star, fan and linear cutting. The neck is finished with a substantial flared sterling silver mount displaying a pleasing naturally aged patina, while the original style cut glass stopper has a large rounded and faceted finial. The silver carries Birmingham assay marks, the date letter D corresponding to 1928, and the maker’s mark associated with Alexander Clark Co. Ltd. Its elegant proportions and crisp cut decoration give the piece a strong period character, combining traditional English silver craftsmanship with decorative crystal glass.
