📜 Description
This English Delftware cover dates to the 18th Century and is decorated in underglaze Cobalt Blue with stylised floral motifs. The form suggests it was originally made as a cover for a vase or related vessel. The creamy glaze with blue decoration is typical of English Pearlware production of the period. Clear signs of age, firing irregularities, and historic wear are present throughout.

Collector’s Notes: English delftware and early pearlware were heavily influenced by Chinese porcelain, yet developed a distinctive regional character. Covers such as this are valued for their hand-painted decoration and insight into 18th century English ceramic taste.
