DESCRIPTION
A Chinese porcelain tile or decorative plaque finely decorated with two long-haired Pekingese-style dogs seated within a garden landscape. The scene includes tall bamboo, flowering plants, butterflies and delicately rendered vegetation against a pale green ground. Fine line work and softly graduated enamel colors give the dogs particularly detailed coats and expressive faces. The upper left incorporates Chinese calligraphy accompanied by two red seal marks, adding the character of a traditional Chinese painted composition.
