DESCRIPTION

A finely potted Chinese porcelain baluster vase dating to the Late Qing Dynasty. Covered in an attractive robin egg blue monochrome glaze with subtle mottled turquoise and lavender tones, the vase has an elegant rounded body, short cylindrical neck, and slightly flared foot. The rich glaze displays an appealing depth and variation characteristic of this popular finish. An excellent decorative example of late Qing monochrome porcelain.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Robin egg blue glazes became especially admired during the Qing Dynasty for their distinctive speckled appearance and vibrant color. Inspired by earlier Jun ware traditions, these monochrome wares remain highly collectible and are appreciated for the beauty and complexity of their glaze effects.
