DESCRIPTION

Antique Chinese porcelain sleeve vase decorated in underglaze cobalt blue with elegant standing female figures in a garden setting. The cylindrical form is finished with dark brown glazed borders featuring incised decoration. The surface displays an overall crackled glaze with hand painted scenic details. Underside bears a four character mark. A decorative Late Qing period example with traditional figural subject matter.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Blue and white sleeve vases were widely produced during the Qing dynasty for both domestic use and export markets. Figural scenes featuring court ladies remained a popular decorative theme reflecting classical Chinese painting traditions.
