DESCRIPTION

A finely decorated Chinese export porcelain saucer in underglaze blue and white. The interior features floral sprays, birds, and a scholar’s object beneath a stylized tree. The border is richly ornamented with dense ruyi head and scroll motifs around a scalloped rim. The plate displays attractive hand painted detail typical of Qing period export wares. A decorative and collectible example of 18th century Chinese porcelain.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Blue and white export porcelain from the Qianlong period remains highly collectible for its refined painting and durable craftsmanship. Smaller cabinet plates such as this were often produced for both domestic and export markets. The elaborate ruyi head border reflects popular decorative motifs associated with prosperity and auspicious symbolism in Qing porcelain design.
