DESCRIPTION

A delicate Chinese export porcelain saucer from the Qianlong period decorated in puce famille rose enamels. The center displays a floral bouquet enclosed within a decorative diaper border highlighted in gilt. The cavetto is sparsely decorated with small floral sprays, while the rim features a repeating lattice diaper pattern in deep pink tones. The elegant and restrained decoration reflects mid Qing export porcelain aesthetics. A refined example of 18th century Chinese porcelain.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Puce decorated famille rose porcelain became popular during the Qianlong period for the European export market. The monochrome pink palette offered a softer decorative style compared to more elaborate polychrome wares. Small saucers of this type were commonly produced for tea services exported to Europe in the 18th century.
