DESCRIPTION

A Chinese blue and white porcelain moon flask vase decorated in the Kangxi revival style. The neck is fitted with molded chilong form handles, adding sculptural detail. A decorative and attractive example of late Qing blue and white porcelain.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Moon flasks were inspired by earlier Chinese and Central Asian metalwork forms and became highly popular during the Qing period. Kangxi revival pieces produced in the 19th century are appreciated for their faithful interpretation of earlier decorative styles and remain sought after by collectors.
