📜 Description
Very rare Chinese Porcelain plate exquisitely decorated in the refined Doucai technique, combining underglaze blue outlines with overglaze Famille Rose enamels and delicate Gilt accents, attributable to the Qianlong period.
The central medallion depicts a richly ornamented Daoist offering vessel filled with auspicious fruits, dominated by the Pomegranate, rendered in iron-red and soft enamel tones. The cavetto and rim are adorned with scattered Precious Objects (Ba Bao), floral sprays and symbolic motifs, finely balanced with elegant negative space.
The reverse is sparsely decorated with iron-red floral sprigs around the footrim, a feature associated with high-quality Qing Dynasty export and domestic wares.
Collector’s Notes: In Daoist symbolism, the Pomegranate represents fertility, abundance and the wish for many male descendants, due to its multitude of seeds.
