DESCRIPTION

Elegant Chinese porcelain boat shaped saucer dating to the Qianlong period of the 18th century. Decorated in famille jaune enamels with central peony sprays and scattered floral motifs in iron red, blue, green, and yellow tones. The shaped rim features geometric border decoration with Buddhist symbol elements. Raised on a footed base with applied side handles and finely painted exterior floral decoration. A finely potted and decorative export porcelain example.

COLLECTOR’S NOTE

Chinese export porcelain of the Qianlong era remains highly collectible for its vibrant enamel decoration and refined forms. Boat shaped vessels such as this were produced for both domestic and export markets during the 18th century. The famille palette and floral decoration reflect the influence of popular Qing dynasty decorative tastes.
