The interior is simply finished with a small floral sprig in the well and a decorative border below the rim. The elegant slightly flared form is characteristic of Kangxi export porcelain.
COLLECTOR’S NOTE
Chinese Imari wares were produced during the Kangxi period for both domestic and export markets, combining underglaze blue with overglaze iron red and gilt decoration. Small beaker cups such as this remain popular with collectors for their refined form and vibrant decorative style representative of early Qing porcelain.
