COLLECTOR’S NOTE
Blue and white porcelain remained one of the most enduring traditions in Chinese ceramics throughout the Qing dynasty.
Many 19th century pieces bear earlier reign marks as marks of respect rather than period attribution.
Individual gaiwan covers are often collected for their decorative quality and calligraphic marks.
