Antique Chinese Famille Verte Porcelain Cover Ginger Jar Late Qing 19th Century

🌟 Product Details

πŸ†” Inventory Code INV2305 Ⓜ️ Material Porcelain 🏳️ Origin Chinese πŸ›οΈ Period Late Qing dynasty, 19th Century Β πŸ…‚ SubjectCover / Lid (possibly for a ginger jar) 🏷️ Marked Unmarked πŸ“œ Description

A colourful and charming famille verte porcelain cover, likely from a ginger jar or similar vessel, dating to the late Qing dynasty (circa 1880–1900). The domed top is vividly enamelled in green, red, yellow, and black with a stylised Buddhist treasure or rockery form flanked by flames, set beneath iron-red mountain outlines.

The border is decorated with a continuous green scroll frieze on a pale ground, typical of late 19th-century decorative porcelain. The interior is glazed with pitting and kiln speckling consistent with provincial Qing production.

🎁 Collector’s NoteJar covers of this period often featured auspicious motifs or Daoist emblems. While incomplete, this piece displays strong enamel colour and painterly brushwork. It may be of interest to restorers, collectors of famille verte wares, or as a decorative standalone object.

πŸ” Condition

GOOD – Typical age-related wear and imperfections to glaze. Please refer to the photos for full details.
